64 player sucks enough.
That's going to create FPS problems for a lot of players...TheAussieReaper wrote:

They promised a lot of things: player/clan badges that would appear on soldiers and vehicles, a friends system, hovercraft, the Simrad, civvie vehicles...Cyrax-Sektor wrote:

They worked a lot on the Simrad but took it out of the final release. Gamefiles are still there but it wont work online. In other words, they took it out for a valid reason: time constraints/not possible to complete coding/game balance, whatever.
Same applies to 128 player maps: probably due to overload on servers and the sheer size of and design of the maps. For it to work, they would also have to create 128 (114 in your case) player maps for this of all the existing maps, and the maps themselves would have to be totally redesigned for that. Perhaps even recreated from scratch due to the map size limitations.
Example: karkand (just so everybody can understand...): there is nowhere to go outside of the redzone for additional flags, so you would have to either:
1) Flatten the mountains and expand outwards
2) Put double the player load into the same sized map
Exactly the same applies to all other maps in the game. The only ones I can think of that could perhaps get this treatment is Tampa and Songhua, but again, with a serious map redesign.
Thats a HELL of a lot of work.
Basically, it will not happen for BF2. No point in even trying.
bullshit it will. Maybe years ago when bf2 was really intensive and had leet graphics. Now, if a 7600gt can run bf2 max settings, imagine what an 8800gt can do. And that's just a standard card by today's settings.firebolt5 wrote:

I know what you mean by that but, get real, Companies will invest time&money in projects that delivers them $$$.TheAussieReaper wrote:

Complete remake of Bf2 call it BF3s ( s= because stats are life) and sell it for 50$.
*Fix it
*add content
*you all know it
If DICE had the last word on the bf2 project the release date would be this When Its Done
*Note; everyone who say's DICE is a screwup with bf2 etc are just like those "n00b: Fucking cheatersgame arslochsheisse nerd game" n00bplayers you see ingame. EA is the one who wants the project done ASAP, so faster releases=less quality.

Every map wouldn't have to be 128 (114) it could be at least an option for mods to enable if they have bigger maps and want to have more players, like Project Reality.Snake wrote:

114 noobs in 16 size karkand ftw
Yep, everything that was cut from the game, including 128 player maps (and howevercrafts, M82s and SPMAs) was cut for a reason, whether it be technical or balancing.Snake wrote:

zomg lag
64 players to 114.. there are three things wrong with that picture
1) more lag. ping will go up quite a bit
2) more asshats noobs running around Tking each other/ immature insults flying like grenades.
3) 114 noobs is just too much for an administrator to keep up with. there might as well be no admin. and i hear about this auto admin crap which to be quite honest is even worse.

Doesn't matter.
Everyone would only play karkland and it would only mean more nades and more claymores.

Agreed with most, 64 players is enough of a clusterfuck.
Having 20+ idiots out of a 32-man team also gets very frustrating...
Would you really get 100+ people wanting to play on 1 mod server anyway?

128 Zatar would be funny as hell.

Imaging bombing the carrier with SU on oman with 50+ noobs all trying to get a vehicle standing there... Oh it'd be sweet.
as long as FF is on.
Where did you come up with the number 114??? And 8 man squads? Just random numbers???
8 players x 9 squads Alpha-India doesn't come out to be 114 more like 72, but 6 times 9 ise 63 +1 commander = 64 players perfect.

These petitions have never worked, plus I think 32 player teams are fine.
