"Spokeswoman Marni Tomljanovic said Newman died Friday of cancer. No other details were immediately available."

I thought he was good in The Color of Money.  Like his salad dressing also.

Doc Hudson from Cars.

I really never heard of him either, but some popcorn has his face on it (and he played for the Chicago Cubs at some time too).

I expected it. He said he was going to die at his house, and I was braced for it. Still, very sad.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

One of the last few truly talented actors in hollywood.  Loved his performances in Road To Perdition and Cool Hand Luke, my Dad named me after his character in that film.

Since I'm being t-total and staying in tonight for once, I might watch Road To Perdition in tribute.

RIP.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.

Why is it considered ignorance?

I can see how not knowing historical figures or world leaders is thought to be ignorance, but a fucking movie star?

A hollyweird movie star, at that.

First time I've been called ignorant for not knowing something about Hollywood, HOLLYWOOD ffs.

Yeah, I actually have to agree here...I mean, he's a great person and a great human being (unlike most hollywood people), but I don't see how not knowing him is "ignorance".
