Mic makes fuzzy sound

It's a constant fuzzy background sound, apparently it's because I don't have a sound card

So I kinda want to buy one, but not sure what I would buy and basically need your help in buying one
Do you need to know specs?

Sucks that you have an nForce, you probably won't be able to use an X-Fi without crackling or popping.

any ideas about what I could use, and i know it sucks lol
it's an old computer which i believe is on it's last legs lol, I only really need it to last maybe a year

But I want to be able to talk to a friend without her having to hear the fuzzy sound

You dont need a sound card, unless your pc is way old.

I have Nforce 7 onboard sound and it works like a dream.

If you have a webcam that could be a problem...it is for me :S

i do have a webcam but i am not using it lol

if its not cos i need a sound card does anyone know of a fix?

Anyhow, that constant fuzzing sound sounds _{(lol pun)} like the problem could be a the mic instead? Have another computer to test the mic in perhaps, or another mic to try in your PC?

It is a known fact that nforce integrated sounds are horrible though.

I have no spare computer or mic

but this thing is only a £5

so i guess if it makes no difference it's not much money, only a burger king meal in butlins lol

That's a sound card, and it might get you better quality than integrated as well as with your microphone and if you're lucky, it'll be able to do hardware rendering as well which means less lag/more framerates.
