Hey guys, only found one other topic on this, and wasnt exactly helpful.  However here is my issue.

Monitor: Compaq V700 17" CRT
video Card: Sapphire 4850

I was just browsing craigslist, as most of you know its got a white background.  However as I was looking on the site, the white began flicking through various tints, from a grayish white, to a bluishwhite, etc.  This continued on my desktop as well.  Now, first thing I did was turn my monitor off and back on, which didn't do anything.  However after degaussing the monitor and reseting my profile in CCC in went back to normal.

Now, my temps were easily average, at 62C, and I do not overclock and run the fan fix.  However, under CCC I have the "Enable Ati Overdrive" box checked, and Im not sure if thats currently overclocking it or not, as my current clock settings read normal (500mhz and 750mhz respectivly).

I've never had an issue like this so not quite sure exactly whats going on.  Any suggestions?

Is your monitor cable screwed into your video card? Kinda a dumb fix but this can happen if that cable is loose and gets wiggled.

Been stable at 72hz for the past year, not sure why it would suddenly start bugging out on me.(not saying your wrong )

It sounds like your monitor might be on its last legs. How old is it and how long is it used a day?

My thoughts too....

Rather the videocard was failing me(still under warranty ).  The monitor I have no idea the age on, as my bro-law snagged it from his work as they were getting tossed, as for useage, it varies day to day, but on average atleast 6 hours. Guess ill be in the market for a new monitor shortly even though I dont have the funds for it
