Greetings fellow bf2s goers,

Im in a bit of a pickle. My old hard drive stuffed up a bit, so I got a new one. Still, I am unsure to how it happened, but when it goes to the windows loading screen, it will load across 2 bars and stop, then come up with the blue screen with "Beginning dump of physical memory". So I decided to get a new HDD since I couldnt fix that one. About a month on using the new hard drive successfully, I atempt to recover my old data by "plug n play" (as the term goes I guess).
To clarify:
-Old Hard drive was a Seagate 500GB HDD 7200RPM
-New HDD is a 1TB Western Digital 7200RPM
Both SATA

Now I turn my PC off, plug in the old hard drive as a slave (at least I think its a slave..?), and log into windows. Windows works fine since old data from hard drive isnt first boot priority.
Now I go to My Computer and see that the hard drive has shown up, but when I try to click it and open it, it says that I need to format the HDD. I dont want to lose the data thats already on the hard drive, yet I want it to work again. Ive tried plugging in the SATA cable into different ports of my motherboard (which is a GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 if it matters), and the same result occurrs. Ive also tried booting off the old hard drive but it does not even get to the windows loading screen.

If anyone has any advice/tips/help, it will be very, very appreciated, and karmaz for those who use it as an incentive to help too.
Thanks in advance.

My guess is that the hard drive is so corrupt that it is unreadable, i would probably try a third party tool like 'get data back' or something like that

This.

Recently recovered a couple of hundred GB's off a failed hdd using Get Data Back. That program is awesome.

Also, there is no slave/master with SATA.
