It is not the position of an external power to impose a freedom of their choosing on a distant nation. Simple as that. That's not freedom. It's a contradiction in terms. The Iraqi government have stated openly they want a fixed timetable for withdrawal, which means that the idiot in the video's assertion about freedom is nonsense: because he doesn't want the US to leave Iraq (contrary to Iraqi desires). Complete pathetic nonsense.

By the way, that ad is pathetic drivel - especially the end part and the music. Wretchorama.

Why let little facts like this get in the way of heart-rending propaganda?

Have they (Iraq), or have they not, stated openly that they want a fixed timetable for withdrawal?

I thought we had agreed on a partial pullout through 2009, and a total pullout by 2011?

So you can acknowledge that it is not even clear that Iraqis want the US to stick around and yet this soldier is asking for the troops to be kept there, even though it may be against their will? If they don't want then there it aint really 'freedom' now, is it?

freedom is not free from protection brad.  its obvious these people are animals and need a dictator to control them.  cant say anyone would have thought that.

It's not about America using Iraqs oil, it'a about profiting from it and using it as a form of veto power against those who do use the oil. By controlling the oil you can cause great harm to those that need it by switching off the supply. 'If you go agaisnt us, we switch off the oil supply' makes for a great negotiating position.

Iraq exports a fraction of the amount that the Saudis and Russians export.

We do get a handsome amount of oil from Iraq, but not much compared to other countries. According to the Department of Energy, these were our major imports in July 2008 (in thousands of barrels I believe)

Iraq: 22,634
Saudis: 47,186
Nigeria: 29,711
Venezuela: 32,810
Canada: 71,446
Mexico: 38,484

It's not about where the oil goes. It's about where the money from the oil sales goes - which currently is into reconstruction of Iraq, which is done by US contractors. This means that the money from the oil is being pumped into the companies doing the reconstruction.

Where the oil goes is totally irrelevant. What matters is that the Iraqis have oil, which means they will be able to pay for everything.

You've also neglected to mention the fact that Iraq has the second largest proven reserves of oil in the world (after Saudi Arabia).
