thats the idea...

if you want a nice shine on that bumper, do it like this:
start with really rough paper...say 60 grit. go at it until all the big chunks of rust are gone...
then work your way ALL the way down to, 400 grit....hell even 600 if you want extra shine.

for a satin finish on my knives, ill take it all the way to 1600 grit.
i wouldnt recommend that, as you WILL spend about 40 hours of work on that bumper going that smooth.

patience is key with this though...your hands and arms will hurt, but it will be worth it in the end.
sand blasting would be the only hope that facebar has,   and it would be cheaper to get a new one and start fresh.

They charge for paint =\
Believe me, a $2.15 can of spray paint was well worth it =]

Do they refer to our sort of blazers the same way in US?
Well "blazer" to me is this:

Cause I wore a "blazer" at school, kinda similar to that (darker green etc).

So I am guessing no.
No you didnt Tim, you went to a public school.
What, with top hats and tails? That's what they wear at most public schools.

Indeed. But everyone knows if you really want it to go faster you paint it red. Red = colour of speed.

Not here. We wear pretty much whatever we want.

Do you have public schools?

(as in Eton, Harrow, Winchester, Westminster etc. as defined under the Public Schools act of 1860 something, there are 9 of them - I didn't realise there was an equivalent over there)

Maybe we're talking about different things. Our public schools are where almost all of us get our education before college; what we call elementary, jr high/middle and high school.

That's very different then. We have Public, Private and State schools - I'm guessing our state schools are the same as your public schools. At Public school in the UK you'd be wearing waistcoat, tailcoat, pin-stripe trousers and top hat. Kind of different. In fact most schools over here have a uniform of some description.
