Problems with Acer Aspire One

Anyone know how to do it?

If there is a Wifi button on the laptop, make sure its on

Then, in your taskbar there should be a little icon that looks like a computer with waves coming off of it, right click it and select view available wireless networks

Im on the lappy now, i can see any icon for wireless networks..

Try Control Panel > Network connections, there might be a wireless connection in there

Mine connected fine... If there's no orange light on the bottom right corner of the laptop, it may have the problem mine had.

Run it in Safe Mode With Networking and see if the wireless works then. If it does, make a new user account and delete the old one.

Sorted my problem with it.

Make sure that the Wifi is enabled in BIOS.

Does your router's network appear in the list of available networks?

Do you have any security enabled on the router?

Is the wireless connection configured for DHCP?

Edit: When you try to "connect to the internet" where do you get stopped?

It should be working, there's either a simple switch set wrong somewhere or the hardware is bunk.

Well I have the Aspire and don't/didn't have this problem. Its not laptop's fault.

It could be, you know. You never know. Acer does have questionable quality control. But you're right, it's probably user error.

We bought a new Acer screen to school the other day. Well, at least half the panel worked

Mutant and I have had 22" Acer panels that work just fine. So that's a +1 for Acer, bringing the total to 0 again.

Why does Acer win? You haven't even gotten behind zero. My EEE PC 900 works with any wifi I have yet to connect it to (any conventional, unlike some Unis which require specific settings before connecting). I am sitting in the underground train using my 900 right now. I win, BEE-YATCH!!!!

My Acer is win, Elite's Acer sucks. I wasn't clear enough I guess.
