I was looking around on Newegg for a HD monitor (1920x1080) and I could only find like 42' monitors for 1k

Dont they have anything like 30' for more like 350-500? Or do they just not make them?

edit: just found this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6824112011

Is 24 inches too small though? Im thinking of cloning screens, putting this one on the wall, and getting a Blu-Ray drive and watching movies on it...

How big is 24' horizontally?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

That's as good as it's gonna get.
ooh, my family's getting the 52" touch of color series samsung.  supposedly they're amazing except when there's a lot of ambient light in the room (because of the glossy screen).

hmmm dunno.
as for size... 24" is probably to small... but it depends on how far away you are sitting. if ur only a few feet away 24 is good. but much further and u wouldnt be able to tell the difference between blu-ray and normal DVD because it would be too small =/
but i ran my computer on dual screen on my 21" LCD and my 1920x1080 42" LCD TV. and it was Epic.

Yeah that looks totally sex. Samsung is great with displays too, no?

For a drive, how does This look?

Can you get a poor quality Blu-Ray drive?

Anyone have one?

As long as you're on newegg and looking for large screens, check out some of the larger ones. You can get LCDTV 42/52 inchers at 2ms response.

Here are my precise drawing plans, the swivel would be pretty sweet too, maybe I could force the movie onto the other screen and play games or browse the web from my current one?

Anyone know if you can run 2 monitors from the same screen and send programs to the other screen and have the other screen set in a different resolution?

Sweet, does that take a lot of power to run a blu-ray?

Is anyone here doing this?

you cant have a game running full screen and use the there screen without the game minimizing. Fact of life, it can't be helped unfortuneatly.

But you can have a fullscreen video I think.

that is correct, once you click out of the game and onto the other monitor the game will automatically minimize, but i'm sure you can have video running on the other screen without interrupting the game as long as it is started before the game. not sure about the power consumption, never cared but have been using dual monitor setup for years...

Ahh good, what I meant for power was how much Graphics Processing power does it take to run a Blu-Ray movie at HD resolution, and does it matter if I get a LITE-ON Sata Blu-Ray drive compared to a 200$ Samsung Blu-Ray drive (Just as far as Blu-Ray display quality)
