I think it all comes down to how you feel on the night, you're either up for it or you're not, i've played regular since i first bought the game. Maybe a 3 week break somewhere but even now, i log in i play shit or i play good, just depends i think.

may not as good as in my "hardcore" times of playing but still good enough to own most of the dudes who are still playing more often.

I played for a while but got rid of my PC about a year ago and got an iMac.
Got a wild hair last month and decided to put on bootcamp and installed BF2.

Man I got worked the first time I played but I think I'm doing ok. In my opinion - it's all about the squad you team up with. If you can get 6 people to all work together you can own just about any objective you go after - good mix of Medic - Assault - Armour will do it.

My last battle was on 09-10-2007 - I happen to reload BF2 last night 10-22-2008 and played one Karkand map - the map was about 1/4 started when I joined and I ended up 2nd best player on the map.
I think it has a lot to do with how much you like the game, I love BF2 quite a bit more then the other three games loaded up on my box, so coming back was like I never left.
I loaded my old profile settings so my key configure was they way I was use to it and all went like glass.
