i just reading a view distance thread and something occured to me.

if i run aa on 0 and aa on 16x forced or 20xaaq via CCC, theres no difference in the terrain to me ????

AFAIK, AA has no effect on terrain, however, AF does.

AA, when it works, affects everything on screen. It can sometimes be hard to tell that it's doing anything, and as I've already implied, it sometimes just doesn't work, but, unlike AF, it is not limited to certain parts of the graphics.

at 300-500m ive found myself shooting people in the face 20x and they dont die, to find its a tree or just a blade of grass that looks like someone because its not smoothed out for instance.
