Yup, no pci-e slots; terrible, old processor.
What would be the best thing to do to kick up my frames on a strict budget?

How strict is strict? TBH the highest GPU i'd put in a rig with a CPU that old is an x1950 Pro (eBay), which is conveniantly about as good as an AGP card gets

I suppose another gig of ram wouldn't hurt too.

i got my 4850 512mb, E7200, good PSU and a P31 for that price.

If I had $600 I could get a new rig...
I only have pci slots on my current mobo.
Anyway I'm not sure, the processor isn't the biggest thing I should upgrade right now? I get constant fps spikes that no one else says they have in games, especially when rendering very open spaces viewing long distances...

I'd hurry. That's around $210 after mail-in-rebates. Won't be possible when they go off. If you want to go even cheaper, change the CPU to E1200. Not very good but certainly 4 times better than your current. Overall that computer is pretty leet, especially for the price.

That mobo/psu will leave you room to upgrade your CPU and video card later if needed.

I guess I'll just wait until I get a job...right now I really have no source of income and I'm stuck playing counter strike source or some old 360 game...I just wanna up my frames for source so it isn't so annoying to be at like 20 frames and have it jump anywhere from there to 10 to 60 in a matter of seconds...on all low graphical settings
