The more I read and the more "failing" banks that are snapped up by other banks makes me think this whole mess is engineered. Just like the great depression.
The banks will recover, but we will be left with fewer more powerful banks. Give it another 50 years and we will see another crises and then we will be left with less again. Repeat until one super power bank of the Communist states of America is left!

Who do you think has caused this meltdown of the global economy... Governments or private companies doing as they please?

I like having Government oversight in economy and business, contrary to your belief it actually empowers me as a voter when it comes to such matters. With complete privatisation I just become another douchebag on the street that big business doesn't care about and can simply ignore.

It would be nice if people could manage on their own. Really, it would.

What you don't understand probably lowing is that nobody really wants government to interfere. But then again, nobody wants to face big corporations and their interests alone. Both scenarios fail. Imo what Braddock is advocating is the lesser of two evils.

Big business gets it money from consumerism, it is up to the consumer. IF the consumer did not spend money they did not have in the first place big business wouldn't be so big. They have grown on money promised them by us for their product ( credit) we have decided not to pay them back, and you call them evil?

With govt. tax breaks, abd consumerism big business is assisted in their growth. This growth is what provides jobs to the rest of us. When they are not getting paid back what is owed them by us, they are going to collapse and the jobs they provide collapse with them.  The problem lies with people taking on debt they can not pay or refuse to pay.

Correct, but that's not why I called them evil. They're evil because they only care about profit. And if let loose, they will do anything to get it. Not too many years back, some workers in Chicago got all fed up and they protested and rioted etc in order to work only 8 hours a day and not 16. They fought for better wages, and for the right to work for a living, and not living to work.

A big corporation with no regulation will only say this: Around here, we work 14 hours a day. Don't like it? Take a hike. We'll find a better slave.
At the age of say 50, they will kick you out and piss all over your pension plan to get an 18 yer old Indian kid only because it costs them less.

If you want a decent job you'll have to fight for it - because the corporations will only care about their short-term profits. So that's where government regulation comes in. On paper they work for the people and protect their rights. What happens in reality is a different story.
