Printer problems

Okay well my printer came today, followed the set up instructions and all that, but everytime I turn it on it tries to print a test page, thats not the problem. The first page goes straight through and nothing is printed on it. The second page goes a third of the way through before it just stops and says there is a paper jam. I clear the "jam" by taking the paper out and resetting the printer. It tries to print again and the same thing happens over and over again. This is driving me mad, anyone got any ideas?

EDIT: printer is a samsung clp-300

i hate my printer, sorry about the random post but the fucker never works.

Also nismo, sending it bk isnt really an option yet. I need to at least see if its a printer fault or just a temporary problem

If you are getting constant paper jam, then it is probably a mechanical problem and IMO, that would warranty an RMA.

k, I'll bare that in mind. I've emailed their customer services and I'm gonna email samsung aswell.
I'm just thinking maybe theres something wrong with its firmware, cos the paper doesnt actually jam, it come partly out, then the printer stops and says its jammed, altho you can easily slide the paper out, and opening the back cover showed it wasn't actually jammed

hmm, I can now get it to print 2 pages before it jams, maybe its the paper?

Are you using regular injet paper? Ive had my printer say its out of paper when trying to use something too thin, so that may be it

Do you have your latest printer drivers? Also, it could be the firmware like you said, they might have an updated version...

What the fuck, if it is a new printer, they should pay for you to send it back, and send you a new one for free. Why would you waste your time trying to "fix" it with your all-knowing, printer fixing skillz, when you can just sit back and let them fix it for you? If it is a problem like that, it is not even worth it trying to fix it yourself, a waste of time, just send it back.

Just think, what will you do if you fix the problem now, but in a year it starts again, then you can't send it back, and you are fucked.
