My nice USB headset just crapped out and my and my only other headset and form of a mic is this headset with only one ear. Not so good for gaming. I was planning on plugging in a nice pair of headphones into the audio jack and using this shit USB headset for my mic but I have no idea how to go about this process or if its even possible.

Help?

Control Panel > Sounds and audio devices > Audio tab: sound playback = your sound card, sound recording = your mic ; voice tab: put both on the mic (though I'm not sure if this is necessary)

Yeah, you can do that, after you plug em in, depending on your OS, in Vista,
Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab > Your Speakers > Make Default > Recording tab > USB Mic > Make Default > Ok.

In XP (From Memory)
Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Voice Tab > Configure Hardware > Go through wizard.

I'm crap at picking headsets so I'll let someone else make suggestions.

Could you not just plug the microphone from the older speakers in, then the other headphones in, rather than the mono... headphone... thing.
Didn't think there was software stuff needed..
