Lately I've been having video/video card problems that I can't seem to fix.

First, whenever I try to watch a video in full screen, be it streaming or one saved to my hard drive, my computer will freeze. Sometimes it happens within 30 seconds of starting the video, sometimes I can finish the whole thing, but it happens enough to be a pain. (Full screen games run fine and do not have this problem, only videos).

Second, my video connection will randomly fail. The monitor goes black and says that it doesn't have a signal (the same thing it does if you turn it on when it is not plugged in to the PC). It doesn't seem to be related to any specific action either.

In both cases it doesn't seem that the card is overheating and I've also updated and reinstalled drivers with no luck. Any ideas? It's driving me crazy.

Have you tried reseating the card?

Is that a fancy way of saying take the card out and plug it back in? If so, no. If not, elaborate.

tech solution #1: Turn it off turn it back on again...
tech solution #2: Is it plugged in properly?

Never fails.
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

Ok, that didn't work. Tried to stream another video, played for a bit then the picture got really distorted and pixelated with weird colors and my computer froze. I don't think it is the card overheating or it would do it during games, but this only happens when running a video in fullscreen mode.

Just a guess, but from "my video connection will randomly fail. The monitor goes black and says that it doesn't have a signal" - it could be your PSU.
