@Zimmer  I don't think those Jays would be available to Canada would they? Depending on how much I get for my Birthday, what would you recommend in the $100 range for Sennheiser or Shure?

@Morpheus  I'll wait and see if I get any gift certificates/enough money for my Birthday on Sunday. I might go for those $99 Shure's.
I get the Shure 110s from Future Shop for $60 on sale.  They're incredible, really good sound cancelling and way better quality than anyone elses earbuds I've used.  The only thing that bugs me is that you have to compress the foam, put it in your ear and let it expand again every time you put them in so it takes like 30 seconds to put them on every time.  Minor I suppose, but irritating nonetheless.
Doesn't say there's a sale on the website. Maybe it's just at your local stores.

They look awesome too.
I didnt say they were on sale now
I got them like 6 months ago when they were, but if you can find them somewhere else where they are it would definitely be worth it

They also have rubber inserts, instead of foam. Or you can get custom-molded inserts, made specifically for your ear canal....
I find the rubber ones dont stay in your ear nearly as well and the sound cancelling is far poorer than foam ones.  And I don't know where to get custom ones, nor am I willing to spend the extra $50 to save myself 20 seconds

k, I'll wait and see if these stay the same price when they become available.
I have those.

I don't like them.

The bass is good, but everything else is rubish imo.

But you get what you pay for I guess. If I had the money, I'd go for some Shure 310s.

So ...

I'm looking into getting some MDR EX85s.

Can anyone tell me how good they are for listening to on trains? Because I am in an underground train literally everyday and I don't want to get something that won't keep some of that sound out.

I also don't want to crank up the noise to the very max on my iPod 5G. I can get it to 3/4 with my Sennheiser EH150s and be quite comfortable. Will this be possible with the EX85s?

Return the old iPod earbuds and tell them to send you new ones? (Only applies if your iPod is still within its 1 year warranty)

My earbuds once died and called the shop where I got my iPod from. They phoned apple and apple send the shop some new earbuds, which I could then later pick up. Nobody ever heard of this?

Get any earphones by Shure, they're the best brand by far for in-ears as far as I'm concerned. The Sennheiser and other competitors just don't match-up. Got me the £120.00 Shure's and they're the best ear-phones I've ever had, completely changed the way I listen to music on my iPod.

Why would you want to get iPod headphones? They're horrible (as Jenspm said).

The way I look at things: if it breaks, it's just an excuse for an upgrade.
