wsock32.dll?

When I tried to install Far Cry 2 and when I launch it (although if I keep clicking OK it finally works) it says that I don't have the WSOCK32.dll file. It says re-installing the application may help.

I don't know whether this affects game performance or features or not, but I'm just wondering what the deal is.

Ahh, good news then. It sounds like the group permissions of the user were somehow messed up.

OK, I have managed to solve my problem. See how this works for you.

On your XP CD go to the Support/Tools folder and double-click on setup.exe.

Then install the "Complete" set of tools (these include Networking etc).

Once done, go to Start, Run, Command and type in the command "netsh winsock reset"

Then restart your PC. This solved all my problems.

or you can go to dll-files.com and get that dll and manually putting it in the game folder :-)
