I'm having hard time getting WLAN work between Acer Aspire One and my EEE PC. The funny thing is that both use the same adapter. Neither one of them can detect the WLAN network at all. Both have latest drivers, WLAN enabled, no password etc set, firewall off...

they just can't see each other.... so... help?

Well if they're both configured the same as each other and neither are working I'd say it's a problem with the access point, rather than the netbooks themselves.

Does ad-hoc work?
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

You using an AP or wireless router?  Can anything else connect to whichever of the two you have?

I'm confused... Ad-Hoc or can they not see each other on the network?

Neither one can see each other's WLAN network.

I create a WLAN network called LOL for example but the laptop B does not see the network at all.

It is laptop to laptop connection.
