Hi all I'm new to this forum but I've been playing for a few months now.

I don't consider myself a noob but...I have a question.

As usual while I'm playing I will come across a enemy soldier by surprise.  Many times as soon as he/she sees me they drop and do some rolling thing to the side while shooting their weapon and... I always die right away.  It looks very impressive to me as I think about it while I'm waiting 15 sec. until I respawn.  Is this some fancy BF2 closely gaurded secret on how to do this or is it common knowledge?  I've tried it but I look like I'm break dancing!

I mostly play medic and my K is not too good anyway but I would love to change that.

Please help!

YEah, it's the 'new dolphin-roll'.  I gotta learn it because certain people perfected it.

LOL chefnorb, YES it is THE secret to know isn't it....

Actually it is an animation you see looking at the other player. Form their point of view, they just go prone, but you see the stop - drop - and roll.

If you and I ran across each other and youdropped prone, I would see you do the fancy dance.

This is a very big secrete but I'll let you in on it. To do the roll you have to press 'A' and 'Z', or 'D' and 'Z'.

M730A2 is right, what you see them doing is just a fancy animation played to make it look realistic. If you have ever gone prone while moving sideways you've done it too.

OK All, thanks.  If you see me on the field and I'm making funny moves it's not lag.  It's just me trying to move like the big boys.

all you have to do is be strafing left or right (holding "A" or "D" down) and then press "Z".  it won't show you do the dolphin roll from your screen but it will on other peoples screen.  don't worry, ur not a noob, i just found that out last month.
