I only have Battlefield 2 and I may buy Special Forces at a later date.  That said, my Battlefield 2 has been patched up to 1.20 with the "if you've never patched BF2 use this all encompassing patch."  My question is, what procedure should I follow with the latest release.  Do I need to install the incremental patch and then the full 367MB patch...or can I install the full 367MB patch and then install Special Forces whenever I buy it.

I'm sorry for asking a question that might seem very basic to a lot of you, but keep in mind I'm very new to all of this.

If you've installed the v1.20 patch, then you need to install the v1.21 incremental patch.

When and if you buy SF, you'll need to patch it yet again, but with the v1.21 FULL version. (after installing SF)

Got another newbie question.  In BF2, most maps offer the option to play as either an American, Middle Eastern or Chinese member, but none so far (at least none that I've come across) offer a choice to play as an European Union member.  Even though it is clearly available on my BFHQ screen.  Is it because the European Union is playable only via Battlefied Special Forces, or is it because I have failed to install other maps or patches.

As always, your help is appreciated.  Thank you again.

if u dont have euro forces then u cant play on the maps with euro union. same way that if u dont have SF u cant play on SF maps.

Okay...so I caved and I had my roommate go out and get a copy of Battlefied 2: Speacial Forces.  Problem is, since there are so many patches already released, which patches should I install and in which order.  I do have my original BF2 patched to the latest 1.21.  I did read somewhere that I'd have to download about a gig's worth of patches just for Special Forces.

As I understand it, in some cases if you install the patches in the wrong order, they can mess up your game.  This is the sole reason I'm asking this question.  In any case, I'll search the forums a wee more and see if I stumble across an answer.

just dl the large 1.21 patch and install it after u install SF.

Phew!  Thanks IBK, you kick ass.  I was afraid I'd have to spend a decent amount of time downloading just the patches.
