Well i find myself frequently going to my friends house. I sometimes bring along my 360 and ps3 to do lans. Im looking for a cheap set of speakers that hook directly to the monitor so i can keep the cords to a minimum. So what can you guys suggest me.

Console LANs... disgrace.

That said, what do you mean by hook to the monitor? Physically attach or accept an output from? The latter would depend on your monitor, the former can be found at any consumer electronics store.

TL;DR: Use headphones.

True true, i could probably get some turtle beach headphones. But im just looking for speakers that physically HOOK to the sides or bottom of the monitor. I know they have them because at my old school they ordered like 300 of them.

those kind of speakers are usually proprietary to the monitor.  see if your monitor maker sells a speaker bar.  I found a used one for mine on craigslist for $20.

It's called duct tape.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
