Not sure what's best for a mobo but something like that

That's about £425 and yeah..without a mobo, so slightly off. But with abit more saving that would be a great pc.

(all on overclockers btw)

Looks good james.

Just a question, Is ATI the best way to go now? I have only used nvidia, and is preferred because i know how to use them, drivers and settings and so on, but if ATI is the best value for money then i will gladly go with them?

hard drive can be 160gb, no need for the 500. And the case can just the cheepest one that looks half decent.

Edit: And i have a plan for the optical drive, so no need for that

Cheers

I'm thinking along the lines of:

E7300, 4850, Corsair VX450, Freezer7Pro, P5Q, 2GB 800/1066 ram, Samsung F1.

If he only needs like a 250gb hd he can probably stretch to an E8200 + I doubt an aftermarket heatsink is needed... doubt he'll be overclocking.

DU's always on the ball, i'd go for this, you don't need the 8xxx intels, the 5200'll do.

I recommend "aquired" XP Pro.

Legally "acquired" XP Pro
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

What does your brother have on his current PC/what's on yours?  If you have an XP disk and the key, it should work fine, regardless of how times you've used it.
