G15 BF2 Applet

I didn't make this (kudos to ShadowZ and Blood Gunner), but for those gamers here who might happen to have or be planning to purchase a Logitech G15, the following applet grabs server info / your current score statistics and displays it on the LCD:

It's pretty good, moreso for checking server settings than looking at your current score seeing as the tab button does that job pretty well. Only problem I seem to have with it is that I'm a Captain and it shows me as a Sergeant Major. Aside from that, this seems to be the first G15 BF2 applet that actually works and gets the right server info for me. It's still in beta though so hopefully it'll be fixed up and awesome'd out soon enough.

Well of course, an even better way to remember would be to print out 100 copies of the rank insignia and sitck it up all over your room, because if ANY player forgets his or her rank when playing then the entire fabric of the universe will be ripped and life as we know it will cease to exist!

Incorrect. You think they wouldn't have considered this? If the quote you referenced was made in direct relation to this app, then the guy has no idea what he's talking about. If it's referencing something different, it doesn't apply here.

It's a seperate application that runs in the background. It does not modify any files at all... I believe it READS server information (like the stats that show up when joining a server), but it doesn't actually modify any BF2 files at all. It's not a hack... and PunkBuster has no worries with it.

Under the same argument, you may as well try and shut down Game-Monitor.com for querying the servers, it does the same thing, except displays it on an LCD.

Personally I doubt EA would do such a thing... even if they do outsource the decision to someone who gets scared by the terms "hooking" and "memory" it's pretty obvious what the thing does and how harmless it is, and EA, I think, would let it be.

Do you see the four black buttons under the LCD screen? You have to press each one to get its info.
