I've been experiencing the same problems.  I looked into it, and apparantly there might be a few causes.  I'll list a couple.

1) Your ISP sucks.
2) Router not configured properly to allow all ports BF2 needs.
3) Punkbuster may not be updating properly.  Try updating it manually.
4) I noticed when running Ventrilo I experienced the disconnections a lot more frequently.  If you're running Ventrilo or a similar program, try closing it.

I dunno if any of this helps but it's worth a shot looking into it.

Umm. Same with me but this has never happened before until I installed the patch.
So 1,2, and 3 are gone. Umm it's not a PunkBuster problem, but rather it says Connection Problem... that one.

I have a similar problem. I lose connection to servers very frequently. Sometimes one minute after joining, sometimes one hour after. I have had this happen with two different motherboards using onboard ethernet. My buddy came over and hooked his computer to my lan. I was disconnecting, he was not. I disconnect when hooking my computer straight to the dsl modem. My buddy uses win2k, I use xp. There are some possible problems. One; I recently installed an scsi controller and drive. I dont use any ide or sata. My buddy has sata. I have the xp firewall turned off, but the nforce4 chipset on my board has a hw firewall that is disabled in the bios and no drivers are installed. Maybe it's still doing something bad? Only about 1 out of 10 disconnects gives me the in game "there is a problem with your connection" message, and that usually is due to the entire server crashing. Most of the time I just freeze and drop straight to the server select screen with "you have been disconnected from the server". I used to think this was because private servers have reserved slots and I was being bumped for a member. So I started using EA servers and it still happens.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I lost connection always about 50minutes later

step 1 2 3 4 are ok and no problems !

so this problem comes from the game and EA don't care may be !

is any other solution ! ...

I think I discovered my problem. I was using the "256k dsl" network connection setting, and I actually have dsl. I switched it to "T1 lan" and I have greatly reduced my disconnects. I am not sure what this setting changes in the software.

Calimero; I think what may be happening to you, if you drop connection at exactly 50 minutes is this. Some Isp's will renew your modem ip address on some regular interval. I think they do this to keep people from being idle for long periods. I would suggest doing ipconfig from the dos prompt, then start bf2, then after you disconnect, go back and check the ip. My guess is it has changed and during that change you dropped connection from bf2.

argh !!! ty for your answer but i have a fix ip so no change

i ll try to put my modem directly to my comp and not to the router

i ll say you what happened !

...

Ok so my modem is on the the router and my computer too !!

so i cannot find why i get disconected each 50 minutes later ...

any other has a solution !

Do you have a dual core processor?

Nope... a San Diego 3700+ @ 2950Mhz (but tried also at stock 2200 Mhz and it behaves the same).

It swaps for few secs. and after it it says "connection lost" or rare times he manage to continue the game (after "problem...").

My connection is perfect.
