Heads up to all you social net-workers out there who are using Bebo.

There is a virus going round just now which is being sent via the 'Mail' service. It will be from a friend and will ask you to click on a link. DON'T, or you will possibly download the virus.

I believe it may be going round other sites like Facebook, etc...

Just a light warning as I know you bf2s'ers are all pretty clued up on this stuff.

It's on facebook too. I got hit. It's not really a virus (Norton didn't detect it). You can remove it using SpyBot - but you will have to reinstall Windows.

FTR It's a link to a youtube-esque kind of site and when you press play on the screen it says you need the latest version of Flash which it allows you to 'download'. Then you're stung.

Not surprised Norton didn't detect it. Does it do any harm besides requiring to reinstall windows?

I believe most browsers will notice that it is a potentially dangerous site and will flash up a warning about it. So be careful

You start getting various problems with winlogon. 'Memory at x001929323 cannot be read' type warnings ultimately making your Windows inaccessible - you get an automatic shutdown if you click OK or Cancel on the warning. The trick is to leave the warning window up and enter Windows as normal. Remove the little fucker, backup all your stuff and reinstall windows. Computer is good as new.
