Rescue workers had trouble locating the teen because of his UAV jammer inplace.

there were a few days where it was cold here in Toronto. Where he lived though, Berrie (where i have gone to) is much colder than here, about 3 to 4 Celsius lower, and a couple weeks ago it was at the freezing point, it snowed in Berrie heavily, i could think he died of hypothermia, i could be wrong.
lets just wait and see the medical investigation.

However I must weigh in on the video game issue. Since the beginning of time people have "blamed" pretty much anything other than ourselves and our own failings for tragedies because it is easier to find blame in an external thing or activity than it is to accept that tragedy usually comes from a human frailty or flaw. Before there were video games, people blamed TV, before that, shooting pool was the sinful pastime that lead to these sad stories, and long before that it was reading questionable books, etc, etc.

The reality is that all of us seek to explore our world and most of us find pleasure in escaping the real world at times. Some people have a life or a personal character that leads them to extreme responses to minor incidents, and at the end of the day even good, normal, well-balanced people sometimes become victims of tragedy too.

I truly enjoy the company of many friends that I have met in the online world gaming over the years, and I have been "online" since before the Internet was a public place. I play strategy games, war games, building games, word games, and pretty much anything else that you can think of. I live in the real world, work hard for a living, support a family and take part in community sports and public events.

Don't blame the games. Before the games existed teens had fights with parents and ran away, it is part of growing up, always has been, and always will be. Sadly once in a while those that run away never come home. It is a tough lesson to learn, but every generation of children has to experience this reality for themselves.

Again my condolences, and I just hope that the family can accept this loss and move on. Unfortunately in this day and age of ambulance chasing lawyers on every street corner I predict a great big law suit and a battle for years to come, which only adds insult to injury for any intelligent thinking person who recognizes that the game didn't CAUSE this, it was a SYMPTOM of something underlying.

This guy's right. Society just tends to find the nearest scapegoat...
