ok, is there an easy way to find out how an ascii character maps to the keyboard?  i know the keyboard map will show me that info, but is there a faster way of finding it instead of digging through there?  kind of like a reverse lookup method?  i tried using the advanced search feature of the char map, but it never finds a result, no matter what i put in there, even if it's a normal character...

for example, aussie has that ¯\(°_o)/¯ thingy under his name.... how would i find out as fast as possible where the symbols are mapped?

This, or write a small app or script in whatever that takes character input and outputs ASCII/Unicode equivalent.
