Your link is broken.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Can't you just look at one of the other 50 "build me a XXX dollar PC" below this one?

EDIT: Specs look good, however I'd get 4GB RAM + Vista.

Also, what brand/model is that PSU?

EDIT2: Also, a C2D E7200 performs nearly the same as the E8400, still overclocks like a raped ape, but is a bit cheaper.

Can't you just post something that would help, otherwise, please don't bother.

Hi, thx for replying that fast already.

Anyway, 2GB with + XP is better for gaming..

Edit: Rob is the guy i'm doing this for , he's a bit excited :p

He's right. There are tons of those.

XP is better for gaming, but on such a system the difference would be very little.

Get 4GB of RAM anyway, it will still benefit for some things on XP and should you ever decide to upgrade to Vista, you have the memory head room.

He'd get plenty of help in the other 50 threads. By the way, I don't see you helping him?

Neither would using that 18pt, bolded Search button up top.

Stop hi-jacking the thread please.

Xp ftw anyhow. + XP is less expensive than Vista.

And I asked to take away a few things and replace them by cheaper stuff.

Damn you Europeans really get ripped off on electronics.  That same PC would cost well under $1000/500 pounds in the US.

XP

Vista

XP = cheaper.

EDIT: I missed that second part of that quote, and of the OP.

Well then, like I said the E7200 is a bit cheaper than the E8400 but still fast enough. If you want even cheaper, the E5200 will work fine as well.

Drop RAM to DDR2 800, or get different model (dominator is overpriced tbh).

Get P5Q instead of P5Q deluxe, or get Gigabyte EP45 DS3R (I think it's a little cheaper, not 100% sure though).

Also, (again) what are the specs of that PSU?

o guys new radeons are actually FASTER in Vista than XP...

EDIT: especially when SP1 is installed. which I highly recommend for radeon users. It gave me around 30% boost in AA+AF performance when I had tri-fire.

£95 for XP?  The hell with that.  Get yourself vista and more RAM.  Better PSU could be useful.

I take it this is a custom build?  (as in not building it himself).

"...we see a +5.8% boost in average FPS going from XP to Vista. If we add the two game titles and let them enjoy CF-scaling the number jumps up to +27.7%!"

edit: and didn't I make a thread about this a few months ago? I noticed it myself....

so the one that is recommending XP over Vista for Radeon pc is shooting you on the foot...

So it mostly effects multi-GPU setups then?

Get an Antec 300. It has the same cooling potential as the Antec 900, but it's like half the price. I've recently worked with one, and it's very very nice considering how cheap it is.

and AA+AF performance. even normal use is around 5% faster in Vista so talk about Vista being slower than XP is total bullshit... I wouldn't even consider XP anymore for Radeon rigs after my personal experience.

Only with a good amount of RAM though. I had 2GB of RAM up until a month ago. I was running Vista 32 bit, and games would lag like hell. Oblivion, for example...if I turned quickly or looked at an un-rendered area it would drop to like 3 FPS for a second and then go back to normal. Once I got 4GB of RAM, that was gone completely - silky smooth always. So, even on 32 bit Vista, it eats RAM.
