I think it's safe to say that the dedication the Criterion team are showing their Burnout Paradise title and its loyal fans is absolutely incredible and pretty much unprecented. In the history of console gaming, no other developer has shown this much dedication to a title without asking for a hefty sum in exchange and Criterion aren't stopping any time soon.
In 2009, Burnout Paradise fans can expect to see at least two packs; the Party Pack and the Legendary Car pack. Chances are that each pack will cost money but hey, they've given us enough for free so it'd be rude not to support their development with a monetary reward every once in a while.
The Legendary Car pack will include 4 motors that are available "to buy individually or discounted, if you pick up the whole set". They include the Jansen 88 Special (pictured below that can hover with the click of the left joystick), the Cavalry Bootlegger, Manhattan Spirit and the GT Nighthawk.
The Party Pack encourages gamers to crowd around a single telly rather than hook up on line offering a whole array of challenges to delve into. This Party Pack is also said to feature both achievements and trophies; so achievement whores, mark February 2009 in the diaries, although I have a feeling that the achievements will be unattainable for most unless you can get 7 friends round to your house. Remember, shoes off at the door.
Criterion are also lining up "another killer announcement" soon, so stick around and we'll keep you informed. Either way; kudos on the dedication Criterion.
