Well my nan is giving me £50 to spend on a Christmas present. I thought of tech stuff, cos that's what this Christmas is gonna be for me. Nothing is really £50 that I can use within my PC, though, so I thought I'd get some nice 5.1 surround sound speakers.

Looking on Amazon, and I found these two:

Creative T6100

Creative A500

Looking at some reviews, it seems the T6100 better.

I know nothing about speakers, so I ask...

Which is better (I think it's the T6100)?

Edit: Updated thanks to DonFcks spot on the dodgy T6100 link...

I can only speak for the T6100, as I'm using Inspire T3100 speakers myself (three speakers less) which are in my personal opinion not much short of awesome.

Edit: Seems that the T6100:s you are linking to are "I Trigue OEM" which is weird, since the speakers in the picture are "Inspire" speakers as seen here (these are the ones I recommend).
I need around tree fiddy.

Wow, you're right...

Damn good spot, thanks

I don't come here a lot anymore.

Neither tbh. Knowing how modern manufacturers rate their stuff, "26W" and "17W" subs isn't a lot.

EDIT: If those values on the DonFck T6100s really are pure speaker RMS, they're ok.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
