at least i think it is but can't be 100% sure.
so for starters the hard drive has been in use for say...i don't know...four years this coming christmas
here is the part that makes me think it's going to die. About a week ago i was updating itunes and during the installation, my computer started to make a weird click then low screech noise. If i had to guess, i'd say the click noise was the head hitting against its maximum point, and the screach was whatever mechanism failing. I say this because the computer completely froze after that, except the mouse, i was still able to move that around.
About two days ago i was watching a movie, or southpark (i forget which one), and my computer started to do the same thing. Once again the computer froze and only the mouse worked.
Today, i was playing CSS and the computer froze for a bit while it made that noise, and about 20 minutes ago my comp was just idling and it made that noise.
I'm just trying to make sure it is the hard drive that's failing and not something else, i don't want to waist my money away on something that's still functioning. oh and just to be same, i backed all my stuff to my laptop.
