The decision of the case is up to him, i know he'll pick something different when we see all the cases on display.
any last recommendation?
we're going to but all the parts tomorrow, maybe i'll some pics and post them on the right thread.
and for the heatsink, i picked this one

Careful when you are moving the case with that heat sinc installed.  Wouldnt want it snapping off and crashing into the video card xD

well, when built my first PC, i put only the cpu and HS before putting it to the case, i put everything else after i installed the MB onto the case.
so everything is good?

That's the recommended way of doing it

What bell meant is to not move the PC too much once everything is installed. If you hit a pothole the cooler could easily snap the mobo in two

hey, when i build my bro's PC will you help me overclock it, cuz my bro is very ignorant about computers, i know a little, but he thinks that the quad core Q9650 is way better than the Q9550 just because the speed is a tad higher
sure thing.

q9550: 2.83GHz, ~400CAD
q9650: 3.0GHz, ~700CAD

so for about a 6% increase in clock speed and theoretical max increase of 6% performance at stock clocks you pay 75% more. Even the shittiest q6600 batches hit 3.0GHz easily. Both CPUs have a max OC ~4.0GHz, maybe a tad less. The q9650 doesn't really OC any better. I see no reason to pay that much for a q9650 when a q9550 will do just as good
