Right guys, time to tell me what to buy again!

I need a new MP3 player, i'm sick of using my phone as my only source of music on the move, eats the battery etc

My last resort is an iPod Classic 120GB, I don't really need that much space, maybe 50GB max. So I have a few options..

iRiver CLIX2 8GB

iRiver SPINN 8GB

Creative Zen X-Fi 32GB

Samsung YP-P2

Feel free to recommend any more!

Thanks.

Don't they make the iPod Classic with a smaller capacity? I thought they did ...

The iPod Nano 16GB isn't bad either. I've bought my girlfriend an 8GB Nano (the latest gen) and after playing with them in the store, I know she'll love it.

Creative Zen.

I've got an older version and it works like a charm. Nice interface in the player, as well as a nice interface on the computer (drag and drop in files). Also, sound quality is very very good.

Take a look at the Cowon D2. The UI is shit, naturally because it was one of (if not THE) first MP3 players with 100% touch screen.

However, the sound quality is brilliant (the best you can get without an external amp according to some people), and you can ugrade it yourself with an SDHC memory card, which you can get up to 32GB (iirc). If you buy the 8GB version, you'll then get 40GB with the added card.

the X-Fi also has great sound quality. I'm stuck between the X-Fi and Clix 2 myself. The X-Fi has better sound afaik, but the iRiver supports .flac. hmmm

SanDisk Sansa e26/7/80. Custom firmware makes them the most awesome players there are.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

This.

Love my Zen, and will buy a new one when the time comes.
