Haha, speaking of typos I spent an hour trying to get my first (and incredibly simple) JS script to run.
I don't know why, but there was a variable in the very beginning that had no other reference to anything else but had to be there for it to work...
Silly computers....
I'll make one change and see if it works. I'll keep adding more until it stops working.
EDIT: YAY! No. I changed "L85A1" to "L85A1 Rifle" and it gave me
this error. Same as always, just thought I'd provide a screenshot.
EDIT2: Toying with the registry, I was looking for a way to disable startup debug for BF2. I found an entry called "Language." So I think...what if I create my own language with the english files copied over?
So I changed the entry in Language from "English" to "FruitBat"
I then made a new folder in the localization folder called FruitBat, and copied the english files over.
I then renamed:
1) The file name so where it said english it said FruitBat.
2) The first line in all of the files has a reference to "English" so I replaced that with FruitBat as well.
I tried to launch BF2 and I got the same error, except with reference to the FruitBat files I made. w00t.
I tried reverting to file names back to fruitbat and the game crashed. I tried the same with the first line, then the first line and the filename, and both ways it crashed.
So I have no idea what else it could be, but my theory is that BF2 has some sort of reference file I need to find and edit...
