After my windows version of Logic Platinum gave up on me (it's really buggy as it's an old version because it was bought out by apple therefore no longer supported)...

I acquired Cubase Studio 4.

I'm very proficiant at using Logic and Cubase is very similar, however, not enough so that I can simply use it!

I've looked at the tutorials online but none cover the actual sound setup.

I have a usb keyboard and and xfi sound card.

I can get signal from my keyboard at it shows up on a level, however I cannot hear any sound through those halion instruments. And the only midi sound I can seem to select is piano - which I can hear.

Basically, could someone please give me a step by step guide to getting it working! Once this initial problem is sorted I'm sure I'll be able to figure the rest out.

When I used Cubase in school, (Cubase 3), we had to make sure the channel was selected right. So rather than Microsoft MIDI mapper, we used Delta AP Midi. Thats how we got our sounds. Andddd By hoolian I'ma assume you mean Halion. As far as I remember, rather than being MIDI this was Audio, and we had to change our setup slightly to hear it. But we were using shitty school setups, and it was ages ago. So none of this probably works.

EDIT- Trumpets!

Halion, that's the one.

Oh, so those sounds have to be in audio channels?

Don't worry about it!

Yeah... I love Logic, we had it on mac's at 6th form so it was brilliant. But I don't have a mac at home so I'm stuck with this shitty old version.

If you need any help with Logic though, just pm me
