So my friend got this "Anti Virus" which turned out to be a real virus or a trojan, we are not sure. (yea he is lost with these things)
He said he obtained it from a site called seriall.com,when he wanted to find a keygen for Microsoft office, when he download the keygen, he downloaded this as well.

For some reason my friend didn't suspect a thing even if there was new software installed unintentionally and the fact that the computer ran extremely slow. Because of this this its been on his computer for a month.

His attempts ran into failures, such as reformatting his computer.
I suggested him to buy real anti virus software, unfortunate he got the cheapest one at best buy which was MacAffee.

I told him to scan in which he did, it found and quarantined 7 malware. So i told him to scan again just incase. Nothing came up. Then i told him to restart his computer. The Antiviruspro2009 still appears.

Has anyone dealt with this particular program before, please help.

Scan with Avast! incase MacAffee missed something (2 different anti virus is better than one).

Scan and immunise etc with Spybot S&D. I guess you could give Adaware a go also.

Umm... no?

Unless you mean install one, scan, uninstall, install #2, scan... but having 2 at the same time is bad

Sorry, that is what I meant. Not two running at once, that is horrible.

Just exit the other when you are scanning with one. I dont run any at all so I forget these little things

I just don't get how anyone can be stupid enough to fall for these bowdays
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Easy. The website they always used gets an SQL injection and installs crap on load.

Bring MalwareBytes and ComboFix around on a USB as the sites are already blocked.

This brings back memories http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=111244

Back on topic, I got rid of this thing with spyware terminator which is anti spyware software that includes Clam AV, I also got rid of it with spybot S&D. Avira Antivirus also helps.

Don't get malwarebytes, spybot detected viruses in that thing.

My mom's PC had this. What I did to resolve it:
-Remove AV2009.exe from startup (msconfig)
-Delete the AV2009 folders in Program Files as well as Windows/Prefetch.
-Reboot
Run an updated antivirus program (anti vir, nod32,..etc) It might find the remains, it might all be gone.

She's been fine since.
Hopes this helps!

If that doesn't work, turn off the internet and scan with spyware terminator, spybot, avira,(I only used the last 3) etc.(make sure the av software is up to date). Then do alot of scanning for a 1-7 days, when it seems that the virus is gone then get back to the way it once was. Worked for me at least.

Whenever you try to get rid of viruses/trojans, it's really a good idea to go into Safe Mode, so that the minimum is running. I once had a trojan that was hiding out in my memory, and everytime I would delete it, it would check to see if it was there, then reinstall it if it wasn't. The solution there was to go into Safe Mode and delete it there. Make sure you're in Safe Mode to get rid of that variable.
