I have another song stuck in my damn head, well not the song, the beat... So maybe you can help me

Its an older song, and I believe it was played somewhat a lot on the radio.

It has this muted guitar beat in the intro (not sure about the rest of the song)

and It sounds like this song by Tom Petty (thats what triggered the beat in my head)

Im going to work on finding out that Tom Petty song

This is pissing me off so much, I can HEAR the song but I cant give any lyrics and I cant really hum the beat, its on the tip of my tongue, but in my brain

Like I said, its one of those "Its on the tip of my tongue" things, where its in your head but you cant get your thought out, same case for me but this is for a specific guitar riff

Sorry, I didnt say this before, let me specify more

Era was probably like 1989-1999

The palm mute of the guitar wasnt a chord being stuck on all strings, and it was slow

It was probably something like a note a second

and I'm posting this as a shot in the dark because It will bother the shit out of me even more if I know im not doing anything to find it

If I can get the tom petty song I could probably figure it out

Okay, I found the tom petty song

In the background, its a muted guitar, maybe even a bass, and it goes with the rhythm of the drums

its not exactly what the song im looking for sounds like, but its very close

maybe someone after hearing the background guitar will remember know what im talking about :\
