I have played a total of 325 games and have 93 medals. 25 Gold, 36 Silver and 32 Bronze. Not many are from Commanding, maybe like 7, since I have only commanded for 4 hours 39 minutes. You can check my stats, but I pretty much get points from a mix of team and combat points. But more on the combat side usually. I've been playing Battlefield since the 1942 Wake Demo so maybe that would explain my good ratios. Who knows...
i dont comand bacause i dont like taking other peoples gold. like 50 times i get gold but comander gets 2x so i end up with silver
It is difficult for commanders to get medals on 64 player maps. Most good players can get above 50 or 60 (the commander average) in a 64 player map on karkand or sharqi or warlord
I just checked my stats and did some calculations. I get 1.5 medals per hour and half of those are gold, so about .75 gold medals per hour, which works out to be about 1 gold every 5th round.
So is borderline illiteracy.d3x74 wrote:

What is the exact formula for deciding who gets the gold, silver, and bronze? It is not only global score. It is not global + team score. I had a higher global, higher global + team than someone else and he got the gold. My k:d was worse than his. Does anyone know what the real formula is?

Meh...I hate it when a commander steals a gold medal. 2X points? Meh..
I spawncamp with tank or MEC medic whore(both on karkand)
Play as medic and you will get it if you know how to handle you rifle and shock paddles or Defibilators.
It is also another dominating feature when you DOMINATE oponects using Defib. lol
Medic class is one of the class that people say it is the easiest class to accumulate points. the thing is that you need to knwo what you are doing in order to get 1st and 2nd and 3rd place in the server. There are other people who are going for those medals too (i.e. your commander).

I've won on gulf of oman, not a commander, got gold as a sniper.
The shittiest class when it comes to getting points.
How about you get good

I cant tell you how many times i have been cheated out of a gold medal because some commander guy gets 3 more points than I,
In all honesty, i think being commander should make you VOID from recieving the Gold/Silver/Bronze medals. *shrug*

So when you say "How about you get good", I am assuming you only used the basic sniper weapons and not a tank, or vehicle? Because I just worked for a few days to get my Vet Sniper badge and I got gold a whole crap load of times... I used all kinds of vehicles and stuff, so honestly you class doesn't matter. As long as you can run around and kill people and can use the vehicles you will do good. I can get gold with any class in any round. More than possible. Sniper is actually good for points I think, you can leave claymores and you can get one shot kills very easily. I like it personally.Defiance wrote:

yeah, I'm for sure the #1 runner-up
Take points. Take a lot of points.
Most of mine come from playing an offensive sniper. Some as commander (I filled in some command time lately cause I'm decent at it... unlike most people... and because I needed some ribbonage. )

I have a decent medal count (by my standards atleast) and I have jack shit for commander, plane and heli time. I do enjoy armor/transports though, but am by no means a whore. Just kill people, it's that easy.
i've got one or two gold ones when i was going to veteran command. the problem with my medals is that withouth commanders all those silvers would be gold. damn..
play as any kit as a non commander on any Special Forces EA Official server. Dont know why but the people that play on these servers seem to be really bad!!
I will get a gold, silver, bronze medal easily on these maps.

If you are a good sniper you should have no trouble getting gold using it.Defiance wrote:

I have got gold more than once using only the knife, so how could you not get it using sniper?
This is my knife only account as well, Gold, Silver and Bronze

And for the people that say the commander doesnt deserve it, that is bullshit, it is harder for them to get points and they have to make sure their team wins to get a decent score.
I think that gold is based on the highest global score and the highest combat score. At least as far as I can tell. I played a game once where I tied global points with a medic. We both had the same KD ratio but he had a higher team score than I did and I had a higher combat score. I think he had 16 kills and 4 deaths and I had 24 kills and 6 deaths. So since we had the same KD and the same global points I assumed that the deciding factor was that the higher combat score takes precedence over the team score. Personally, I think we both earned Gold, but it doesn't really make sense to hand out 2 medals that are the same.PheloniusRM wrote:

I'm a freak.
