I get a lot of flak because nowadays all I post in the D&ST or on Everything Else is provacative stuff for shits 'n' giggles. I could really care less if someone considers me "mean and unfunny", because in my opinion (and by the standards of my own deadpan humour) there's nothing actually all that mean about what I say. Sure, I like to get in a good argument over certain topics, but that's just because too much bullshit is said here about certain things (stuff that is almost always off-topic and against the Forum 'rules')- and nobody ever really stands up to defend it. Plus of course I like the occasional back-and-forth argument, who could deny that! One of the things that makes this Forum fun to read and fun to post on!
As for the quote that Parker keeps posting, I don't really care to 'speak out' or explain that anymore. He has his own camp of 'Parker-fans' that I'm sure lap it up whenever he posts the supposedly incriminating quote-chain, but in fact all of those quotes were taken from a PM-conversation between me and Parker in which we were discussing what we did for a living in detail. There's nothing pompous or elitist about answering a question, and quoting single-words and phrases out of context and repeatedly requoting the same line in different forms is not a genuine way of making me seem as if I talk about my education 'all the time'. I post in a lot of the education/University threads, but that's because I enjoy my time and University and I'm eager to advise and recommend it for anyone and everyone else. I don't stroll into random D&ST threads or EE threads with my chest-puffed out and an ego to preen because I'm getting a Degree, so is everyone else of my age on these Forums... so I'm not really sure why I'm becoming this 'Resident Snob'. I have strong opinions on certain things, and I'm quick to denounce others, but that doesn't make me a snob-character through and through. I'm just very vocal on certain subjects, and entirely facetious and take-the-piss on others. I guess those personality traits are lost on most people though when they see the "walls of text" and the long-winded prose, but I cannot make any apologies or any changes for the style in which I write.
My original post in this thread had nothing to do with snobbery or the like, I'll maintain that... such an unwarranted chain of bullshit following afterwards in reaction to something completely misinterpreted. Jesus guys, at least engage in a bit of the 'ole Forum banter with me in a thread where I'm genuinely being a true asshole for the sake of lulz and drama.
