Well, my Computer restarts automatically 15 seconds after entering Windows.

Specs:

Q9450 (Stock OC)
Asus Maximus Rampage x48
HD3870X2
500GB Seagate Barracuda
4GB (2X2) OCZ Reaper 1066MHz
750W CoolerMaster RealPower

Running Windows XP 64Bit

I have no fucking Clue why this is happening.

Help me.

Thx

I tried once, and it froze at the screen where u have "Safe Mode" /written in each corners. just a black screen.
I'll try again, but would this be that somethings wrong with the OS?

Well I'm suspecting you have malware on your machine. Most virus writers just want to fuck with you and the easier way is to force a pc restart before you can do anything.

I'd suggest starting in safe mode and running every virus scan possible, along as a scan disc followed by defrag to move any data away from possible bad sectors on your hard disc.

If that doesn't change, you could have a ram problem, but that's easy enough to test with a different stick.

I don't like the fact that even safe mode froze on you, it could be a OS error. Have you downloaded or installed anything recently that might have done this?

I don't dl anything fishy, or go on any dodgy sites.

The only place i DL from is Warez-bb.org, and even then through RS Premium

I'm very confident that it's not malware but neverless i'll try to run a scan, but how woudl i go about that if it restarts so quickly?

have you added or taken anything out if the comp... hardware or software ?

Umm, no monitor, i'm sure the pc is cool.

I'm using a Zalman 9700NT as a CPU Cooler

and the GFX Card is at stock speeds

In Windows XP, the default setting is for the computer to reboot automatically when a fatal error occurs, but you can get around it somewhat.

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

2. Click the Advanced tab.

3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.

4. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.

5. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.

(hopefully it won't restart before you can do this, so try to be quick)

Now when a fatal error occurs, you'll at least see it and it won't cause an automatic reboot. (you'll get a BSOD)

"Write down as much of the BSOD as you can and see if it is similar the next time it happens."

You might have a device driver conflict causing the problems, so check for any red crosses in Control Panel -> System -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager and disable anything that's red.

Gooners have you done this yet??? Boot into it like this, and then do what is said, cause it shouldn't auto reboot.

To boot into safe mode keep tapping F8 on the bios screen.

EDIT: typo.

sounds a lot like driver issue. when I was setting up my crossfireX, I ran in a bit of trouble at first. I got black screen every time after 15-60s in windows. I noticed it happens when catalyst CC loads. I couldn't reinstall drivers even in safe mode except a very tricky way. After that my problems disappeared.

Seems like OS loads something (driver or software) that is really messed up.

panzer's guide:

1 stick of ram
reseat the gfx card

like sup said and...
check CPU/NB temps in BIOS. set BIOS defaults.

I have had this issue once before and I had to reinstall OS. It was so messed up after nforce chipset corrupting files.

edit: oh and run memtest.

Don't you take the battery out to reset the bios/mobo, that's how my mate fixed some lol over clocks.

The bios has been reset several times, though to no avail.

I tried last good configuration and It worked, so far...

But I'm still going to run a Virus scan.

None really, as I'm not using any either and don't know which one is the best atm.
