Ahh, winter..

We who have it enjoy the snow, you who don't envy us for having it. Just as we in the colder countries are jealous of your palmtrees, 365 d/y warm weather and lightly dressed chicks.

But there are downsides to the fantastic winter wonderland - blizzards. You wake up to see your car buried under snow, walk the streets with snow biting your face like 10 000 needles coming in horizontally with the force of a jet engine blast, grinding like sandpaper in your ears. Cars driving off the road, closed airports, trains and buses behind schedule, electrical lines being cut off from falling trees, branches falling off from the weight of the snow.

JOY!

The first blizzard of the year has eased up here in southern Finland, but from what I've read also Sweden has been affected pretty hard. How's the weather in NA? Russia? Baltics? Rant here.

Lol, no.

Luckily the snow had formed nice dunes everywhere else but my car. So it only took me 10 minutes to get the fu*ker out and into traffic. The brakes were totally off balance, right rear jammed, left front locked as soon as I touched the pedal - snow everywhere in the system, opened up after a few good handbrake turns and a couple of harder kicks on the brake pedal.

We also got around 10cm snow here and it stays under 0^o here for couple days but then I think the snow will melt at least partly. I was almost late from school because roads were in bad shape. Here is some pics form our yard:

I never thought I'd say this....I miss the snow

Jens I'm expecting an update on the weather and I'll be coming home in two weeks so you better arrange for some snow so I can go skiing.

There was snow forecasted in London over the weekend while I was there but the skys didn't end up crying out the sweet sweet white powder. In London it would probably have been dark black by the time it hit the floor.

Here in Exeter there is no snow and I doubt there will be any over upcoming months because of the temp difference down south compared to other parts of England. I can confidently say this is the first time I've been able to wear a t-shirt outside regularly over a long period in years.

I still miss trudging through the bloody stuff being cold as balls and occasionally pondering over whether that yellow snowcone is covered in OJ or piss.

I'm on the North Coast of Ireland and we get the wind straight off the Atlantic. Very little snow, but the wind is terrible. Trees down everywhere.
I went outside for a smoke last night and my thermometer was showing -20c wind chill. Not near Finland standards. But our winds are furious.

on the plus side, it's the best November we've had in ages. We've had one day with slush, and the rest have been dry, crisp, cold days.
