Does anyone know how to find out the number of someone who is withholding their number?

I know this is probs going to be a no. But someone is really annoying my friend, And I don't know who it is.

Police can't help because they aren't threatening her life.

Contact phone company, tell them someone is harassing you, ask them to block all private calls

Or ask them to figure out what the number is, and to block that number...

In some states, including mine, it is illegal to call someone from a private/hidden number, even if they are from another state, you can sue them.

That law I can actually agree with.

Hmm that's a point. This is a mobile phone, but I will get her to phone them up and see what they can do.

Another idea is i'm going to phone 2-3 people I think it is while they are on the phone to her, see if my friend can hear the phone etc.

My Dad had this problem, some random person kept calling him and hanging up. He phoned the phone company and they blocked the number (they know the number even if it's withheld from your handset).

Very likely that that's a telemarketer.

They call through every possible phone number, and whoever picks up gets put on a call list, you later get called to buy something.

It's used to keep lists up-to-date.

yeah like others said, phone the service provider and they will block that exact number, i dont think they can tell you who it is though for data protection or some crap, the same thing happened to me every saturday night at like 8pm for about 3 months, it was funny, it made me happy when i was at that crappy drunk stage.

I used to get a few prank calls, mostly random chicks (wtf) that I had no idea who they were (honestly, they all sound the same), which led me to accuse random chicks which eventually meant me getting blocked on MSN etc.. (this has actually happened a few times, plus there's loads of times where people, mainly chicks, just block me for no good reason, and I fucking know they've blocked me because they can't go from online all the time to suddenly not online for a few months, wtf did I do, not bone you, is that why you're angry, lol I wish)

Of course these days everything has died down now that I keep my social life to a select few people IRL and bf2s (yes, I'll finally admit it)
