take the Fort Stanwix Treaty for example;
we bought a HUGE swath of land from a collective tribe known as The Iroquois League. we bought it knowing that they didnt have rights to that land...it was the equivalent of one farmer selling a competitors field, while claiming it is his to sell.
we knew this, yet we still purchased the land and then went to war with the people that would not leave.

army officers ordered the incarceration and subsequent deaths of PEACE DELEGATIONS....on multiple occasions.

the founders of this country, including Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Ben Franklin and William Penn all OWNED land companies that, even before any treaties were EVER signed, claimed lands that they KNEW were not theirs to claim. shit, old G-Dub himself felt so important he claimed over 100,000 acres along the ohio river. seriously, does any ONE person need that much land?

there are plenty of instances of whites and indians existing peacefully together, but that is not an option the american government ever offered.

Dude, I know. What we did was a fucking disgrace. I was referring to the cliche story of Thanksgiving with Squanto and his cronies teaching the Puritans to grow corn and the like. I, in no way, condone the actions of the early Americans, however we must accept that it was because of the attitude that many Americans have towards the Earth that we are a dominate global force and not some little agrarian nation, whether or not that is good.

there are tribes we literally wiped out. the only reason we know about them is because of neighboring tribes that "survived".

one of my ancestors taught George Washington how to survey land...
i was going to go to kentucky this year for thanksgiving, but i dont have the heart to hang out with people who live on a tiny chunk of land that we gave them.
its depressing.

Actually I heard Thanksgiving isn't about the Native Americans (or "Indians") but it was about saying Thanks to the Gods (no wait, God) for giving them like a safe passage from Europe to the Americas, and that basically it became a tradition to say thanks to God for letting our ancestors get here in one piece basically.

Of course nowadays it's another Christian (specifically, American Christianity) tradition like Christmas that everyone celebrates even though they bash Christianity/Religion their whole lives but only celebrate it (like Christmas) because they're a bunch of greedy bastards who don't even have a concept of what they're doing and simply do it, because well, the crowd/sheep effect (greedy bastards also).

However, I think the modern consensus is that it's a day to say thanks to the Natives, so yeah, I agree with Parker, you guys are fucked up if this is how you say thanks considering what happened
