My girlfriend has been on the pill for last 2 years of our relationship and we have had a couple close calls where we thought she was pregnant and I thought I would have to leave my country (jokes ). It is annoying having to remind her to take the pill everyday and sometimes she forgets which screws up the whole process of 99% effective so she has decided to get a different type of birth control called Mirena IUD (inter-uterine device). Basically this device gets inserted into her and the hormones get right into her uterus automatically (ya it gets shoved up her f'n uterus. It was a very awkward to sit there and listen to the doctor explain it). This device (I like to call it that for some reason) lasts for 5 years and is 99% effective like a regular pill.

I am very excited for this because we can now do the dirty without using a condom which feels much more better and not have to worry about me running away cause of a pregnancy. BUT I am also scared that I well feel this contraption in her which is creeping me out. Like what if my little trex gets caught in this thing? Anyway just wanted to share this.

Anyone here have bad experiences with birth control or anyone here have there girls on this particular birth control so you can give me some pointers?

You wont be able to feel the actual device. You may feel the 'string' attached to the device which exits the uterus and stays in the vagina. It can be uncomfortable so you might have to change positions. Just be open about it but don't whine about it. She might have cramps 2 times a month (menstruation and ovulation) so be considerate of that.

PS I wouldn't go around calling it ' my little trex' either. Call it 'the TREX'.

Ya.. My Girlfriend is on the pill and until recently we would do it without a condom. By the sounds of it mine is a lot like yours in that she ALWAYS forgets to take her pill and I end up reminding her. Which is kinda scary because that little thing is the only thing keeping a baby from popping out of her.

We've had a few close calls, she thought she was pregnant, but she wasn't. Since then we've started to use a condom and the pill together more and more. It just, sometimes we always don't have a condom, and every non-virgin knows it feels 10 times better without.. so ya.

Pretty much all my friends GF that are on the pill have had close calls too.. Scary eh?

My GF is on the pill. She has an alarm set for everyday at 10 P.M. to remind her to take the pill. Simply trying to remember is a BAAAAD idea, regardless of gender.

From what i've read, the Birth Control hormones that are used locally around the genitals are more mild than the pill or skin implants.

NOT mild as in weaker, but better for the body, medically speaking.

However, certain types of Birth Control, especially the ones that STOP periods or reduce them, can sometimes have mental side affects such as a higher than average irratibility, or even a lowered sex drive (ouch).

I know a guy who's girlfriend is on the yearly shot, and now that she's on it, she doesn't need the shot cause she NEVER wants or cares to have sex. (ouch again)

It's important to know how effective the BC is AND know what it's possible side effects are.

You never know what changing a BC will do, TERRIBLE PMS, apathetic sex drive, Sadistic unending sex drive, nausea, irritability, etc.

But yeah, women suck at taking the pill... I had to remind my girl every night to take it. Se had to come off, though, cos it was screwing with her and making her weird...
