You know, I honestly believe, it's as bad as needing to be made the equivilent of racism.  I mean, what we have is a group of people being singled out because of a physical atribute, of which they had no say in.

I've often wondered how it was never picked up on as a sort of racist term, after all its associated with like Celtic backgrounds, Scots, Irish etc.

Used to bother me a lot at school, cos back then people used to rag me about it every two days at the minimum. Now though I just congratulate anyone who says it for being able to identify a colour.

It may be because, ''ginger people'' have never really moved to try and get it deemed, as, racism.  I mean, in the 60s you had open racism towards blacks etc, now, it is, socially unacceptable, for various reasons, but, one of them being, black people speaking out about it.  I think those with ginger hair, just try to avoid the lime light.  Could be wrong, but thats my thoughts on it.

This is the argument that fucks me right off no end.  You simply cant ignore some of the more gratuities comments made.  This, perverted, homo sexual fascination with, ''ginger pubes'' on red headed guys (and women I guess, but I have never heard a woman getting called out like that).  I don't have a problem with gay people, but, I would feel, just a little incomfortable, with guys discussin, or blatently staring at my crotch.

Sticking with the parrels with black people.  I assume you wouldn't make monkey noises at Lewis Hamilton right?  It's funny isn't it?  Perhaps not to you but am sure someone would find it funny.  Go up to a Muslim and shout, BOMB.  No?  I know loads of people who would laugh, in fact, I myself might even laugh.  That doesn't however, somehow make it alright.  Also, unless you are a ginger person, who are you to descide it's just fun?  A sly comment you make in passing, could be the third time they have heard it that day and it isnt even lunch time. 

Point being, the ''humour'' wouldn't get you off the hook if you where taunting someone over, say, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation etc.

I feel specifically strong about this because my younger cousin got this all the time, and, walking home with him, I felt un easy ever day back in high school.  Simply because of the attention it attracts. Crying his eyes out, am sorry, just cause some of you guys think its funny is utter bullshit. 

Does seem to be karma in the world though, he works in maranello (not at ferrari ) and they seem to love it over there.
