Recently I've been shooting at helicopters a lot with my PKM and I can't tell for sure if I am causing significant damage. I know I can go into single player and fart around with it but my play time is limited so I thought I'd just ask. I have seen a couple of them start to smoke after hosing them down but I haven't seen one blow up like I have with the 50 cal on a hummer.

More than once I have chased a helicopter away that was causing headaches but I can't tell if it is because it is being seriously damaged or the pilot is scared I am really a 50 cal and is not taking chances.

I looked at the hit points under secretsofbattlefield.com and it isn't clear to me.

Thanks in advance.

you know i do the same thing just because i know every little bit helps but i dont think you can carry enough bulletts to shoot one down with a pkm, i always for go the hummer or vodnik, they make quick work of them

Yeah, it does cause some damage to the choppers (not as much as a HMG). Unless Im in need of repairs right away, all I do is follow the tracer rounds back to the shooter, and smoke his ass with rockets and or 20 mm. Its not a big deal.

LOL last night my gunner hit a guy on the ground that was firing small arms at us with a TV guided missle. HAHA Its such over kill but funny.

It does do damage but not enough to bring it down within 10 seconds. Same as M95. I've killed several choppers with my M95 sniper. It takes about 1 point per shot. If it's already wounded u can make it burn and boom...
