I'm sorry but child molestation is a whole different ballgame to making some animals fight. Untamed animals fight in the wild, shit happens, nature is rough but dictates these sorta things. An old guy fiddling with a little kid however has nothing to do with nature apart from sickness and neurosis. I'd rather give Michael Vick an award than free a child molester.

And making animals fight and abusing them doesn't take a sick mind either?

Personally I'd rather keep both locked up.

To be fair we've used animals for gambling and sport for many centuries, this isn't some new sickness or mental disease particular to Michael Vick.

The guy was just stupid enough to practice a 'sport' that involved domesticated and protected animals in a country that bans said activities. Such things wouldn't rouse a fuss in certain countries; now by no means am I endorsing or even saying I find anything appealing in said sports, it's just that fiddling with children is inherently wrong and having enjoyment at the expense of animals isn't viewed as absolutely amoral.

I think he should serve the sentence given to him, tough justice and making a public example- 'do the crime, pay the time' and all that riff-raff. I don't think he should be exaggeratedly lumped into the same pigeonhole as child molesters and mentally sick people though, that's all.

It's fine, I see where you're coming from and completely empathize and agree with your points. In a Western 'civilised' country it is abhorrent, morally reprehensible behaviour. But there you go, he's serving the time for that- and a fair and agreeable sentence it was too in my opinion. Hopefully he'll have learnt his lesson when he gets out: that he can't turn his hand towards all sports .
