And as if their nationality has anything to do with the news/outcome other than the relevance to the national news agencies.

I'm sure if it was 3 American security-guards, all of piracy in Somalian waters would have been eradicated instantaneously.

Yep, I agree with this. It's funny but you know, versus overwhelming odds I figure you'd go into the basic mode of human self-preservation!

And to reiterate my real point:

American security guards, Icelandic security guards, Nazi SS Stormtroopers... all would have likely done the same thing. Nationality is irrelevant, human nature is the point.

I'm sure Usmarine and Awsmfox would have gone down guns blazing to defend what they're paid so handsomely for... like what, a tenner an hour? I would definitely die for the noble cause of protecting a ship full of chlorine and shitty chemicals- fuck my family and my own interests! This ship is full of hydrochloric acid!
