The first time I played Battlefield 2 was an experience like no other. CoD4 was everything that had been seen before, but put into near perfection. The Call of Duty series is quick to pick up successful game attributes. I said CoD4 because of better support and customer relations. Even with CoD5 out they are not trying to kill off CoD4, unlike when 2142 came out EA tried to bury BF2.

COD4 to help the minority
I like both.
CoD4 for its weapon customization and single player campaign.
BF2 for its sheer variety of vehicles to choose from.
Although there are obviously things I would like to see changed from both, I gotta say BF2. Even with the bullshit hitreg, crappy patches, and much more, it's still got more open room to do more stuff than the admittedly cramped maps of CoD4.

BF2 with V1.3 patch. Then it was the worst game I have ever played from technical issues/pissy admin and the general public that ruined the game with the changes they wanted

Well BF2, even though I don't like it so much anymore I still like it over CoD 4, just wish that there where more maps without the fucking jet. Where only 5 maps didn't have jets I think. and only 2 of them are most popular and the others are rare.
BF2 cuz the maps are big. Pretty much sums it up.
CoD4 is a great pick-up-and-play game, but it certainly hasn't lasted as long as BF2 for me. I played CoD4 a good deal when it first came out, then went back to 50/50 between it and BF2, and now I'm back to 100% on BF2. Up until last night I hadn't played CoD4 for at least 3 or 4 months; played one round last night then got bored and went back to BF2. There's so much to do in BF2 with all the flying planes and helos and driving cars; CoD4 is all about quickly killing, which isn't a bad thing (especially not the custom class creation which is really great), but it doesn't last as long and go only go so far.
Plus I'm one of those "completionist" gamers. I have to achieve everything. In CoD4 I did that easily and very quickly. In BF2 I've still got a ways to go (and yes, I still have fun also; I wouldn't bother with those dumb awards and badges if I wasn't having fun while working towards them).

BF2. Vanilla is fun even after hundreds of hours. And then there's mods which add even more gameplay time. COD 4 got boring after 30h or so
